History

The Fritz Wohlenberg GmbH is a family firm now looking back over a 100-year track record. The company was founded by Karl Paulsen in 1891 when he took over a business which produced and sold lubricants and oils. The product range changed and expanded over the course of the years. The spectrum moved into the manufacture of sealing materials based on hemp, cotton and asbestos-graphite, with products used in heavy industries, shipping and mining. In the early 1950s the first rubber mouldings and o-ring cords/profiles were developed, forming the foundations of today’s core business.
